Welcome to the exciting world of academics at the International School of Dakar! Founded in 1983, the International School of Dakar is an independent English-medium school which offers a rigorous, US-based curriculum in a nurturing environment.

The school has three divisions, which are as follows:

Elementary School:

 Pre-School through 5th Grade
Middle School: 6th Grade through 8th Grade
High School: 9th Grade through 12th Grade

A variety of programs are offered in areas of academics, fine arts, sports, and after-school activities. ES and MS School hours are from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM., HS goes from 8:30 to 3:20. ISD Pre-School is a half day program, running from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Business hours are from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Classes usually start the last week in August, and normally conclude in mid-June.

We would like to thank you for considering the International School of Dakar as the school for your child. As we look at the growing roster of students at ISD and the diversity of cultures and nationalities of our student body, it makes us realize that we are truly participants in a global society. The citizens of today must learn not only academics, but also to understand and celebrate our cultures and differences. The International School of Dakar offers this opportunity to students.

ISD has experienced significant growth in recent years. As a result, some classes have filled, and we have had to begin waiting lists for some grades, particularly in early childhood and elementary grades. Parents are strongly encouraged to complete their children’s applications as early as possible and pay the registration fees to guarantee a spot. Students placed on the waiting list will be admitted as space becomes available based on ISD school admissions policies.
