School Year 2011-12 Admissions Update
Prospective Parents. ISD will accept admissions for the current school year throughout the year. It is not recommended that parents move children late in the school year, but we are aware that sometimes, this is beyond parents' control. ISD is not accepting applications from 12th graders at this point in the year. Several ISD classes are full at this time, including Pre 3, Pre 4 am, G1 and G7. Applicants placed into grade levels that are currently full will be placed on the ISD waiting list and will be admitted based on the waiting list criteria if and when a current student withdraws. We anticipate further crowding for school year 2012-13, and encourage parents to get applications in as soon as possible after January 1, 2012 for places at ISD next school year.
If you are interested in applying to ISD, please submit all required paperwork, including the Application Fee, to the ISD Admissions Coordinator as soon as possible. Applications will not be considered until they are complete. Applications will be accepted for closed grades, with applicants placed on a waiting list, and the waiting list will be prioritized based on ISD Board Policy for Admissions. Being placed on the waiting list is not a guarantee of admissions in the future.
Please also note that the admissions process is not complete until we have been able to screen students individually. Screening may include placement tests and an interview, and in the case of English Language Learners, an English proficiency test. Please be prepared to arrive a few days before the start of the school year if you are new to Dakar so that your child may complete screening. Please also be aware that it will take the Admissions Committee a few days to process screening results---in no case will students start to attend class on the same day as their screening. Generally, it takes up to two days after screening for the final admissions decision to be completed.
Again, we regret that some families may be inconvenienced by our current limitations. We are working to add facilities, but this will not be accomplished until August 2012. We do view our filling enrollment lists as a testament to the quality education offered by ISD, and we thank you for your interest in allowing ISD to serve your family's educational needs.

To Our Prospective Parents:
We would like to thank you for considering the International School of Dakar as the school for your child. As we look at the growing roster of students at ISD and the diversity of cultures and nationalities of our student body, it makes us realize that we are truly participants in a global society. The citizens of today must learn not only academics, but also to understand and celebrate our cultures and differences. The International School of Dakar offers this opportunity to students.
ISD has experienced significant growth in recent years. As a result, some classes have filled, and we have waiting lists for some grades, particularly in early childhood and elementary grades. Parents are strongly encouraged to complete their children’s applications as early as possible and pay the registration fees to guarantee a spot. Students placed on the waiting list will be admitted as space becomes available based on ISD school admissions policies.
To Our Prospective Students:
If your choice is the International School of Dakar and you are accepted as part of our student body, we believe that you will have a highly exciting and positive experience. You will undoubtedly discover that it is a very special place.
Please feel free to visit the school, call or write if you have questions or concerns. We welcome your participation.
