ISD - The International School of Dakar

Admissions

Welcome to ISD Admissions!

Thank you for visiting our website and for considering The International School of Dakar.

The International School of Dakar (ISD) is an independent, English-medium international school which offers a rigorous, US-based, PK3 to Grade 12 curriculum enriched to reflect the needs and diversity of our international student body and faculty. Our staff has teaching experience in 55 countries and our students represent over 50 nationalities. Our diversity and experience inspire students to become lifelong learners and responsible global citizens in a rapidly-changing world.

ISD, founded in 1983, is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). ISD is a candidate school for the IB Diploma Programme, pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that ISD believes is important for our students.

You are invited to join us by exploring the ISD website which is the primary source of information about our school.  We have made significant improvements over the last few months and hope you find it both informative and easy to navigate. In addition to practical information about ISD’s programs and facilities, the website provides an overview of our educational approach, including our history, mission, and vision.

While our website provides a great deal of information about the ISD school community, we recognize that it is also important to see and experience a school in person. To be able to give you the time you need to really see the school, we request that you schedule an appointment in advance by contacting the Admissions office.

ISD has experienced significant growth in recent years. As a result, it is not uncommon for us to have waiting lists for some grades, particularly in the Elementary School. Parents are strongly encouraged to complete applications as early as possible to guarantee a spot. Students placed on the waiting list will be admitted as space becomes available, based on the ISD school admissions policies.

Again, thank you for considering ISD. We look forward to working with you throughout the admissions process.

Sincerely,
