At ISD, a majority of students participate in athletics as members of one or more of our sports teams. ISD follows a three-season schedule and students must maintain academic eligibility to participate on a school team.
The three athletic sports season for ISD are:

Locally, ISD plays games against other local private schools during the season (SIPS League). ISD also belongs to the West African International Schools’ Athletic League (WAISAL) and ISD athletes travel to tournaments at the conclusion of each season (or, in some cases, ISD hosts the WAISAL event).
ISD coaches are generally ISD teachers with experience in coaching. Varsity teams have practices four times per week between 3:30 and 6:00 PM for 1 ½ hours, or in the mornings from 7:00-8:15 AM.
Middle school holds practices twice per week between 3:30 and 5:00 PM. Games are held on weekdays and on Saturday mornings.
Grade 4 and 5 teams hold practices between 3:00 and 4:15 PM and have some games with outside schools, when possible.
