Welcome from our Director

Welcome to the International School of Dakar! 

Having previously been part of this remarkable community, I know firsthand what makes this school special - our commitment to student growth, celebration of diverse perspectives, and our deep connection to both our global and local community.  We are a mission-driven school that puts our values into action every day.  

Our core values -  Respect, Integrity, Empathy, and Responsibility guide our decisions and define our community.  Our motto - Challenge, Create, Change - speaks to the heart of what we do.  We challenge our students academically while creating meaningful connections to prepare them to be agents of change in the world.  

As an IB PYP, MYP, and DP school, we are committed to developing students who embody the IB Learner Profile attributes in their pursuit of academic excellence and making positive change in our world.  We are also internationally accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), which demonstrates our commitment to international education.  

Our eight-acre campus in the Mermoz neighborhood of Dakar offers an inspiring learning environment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  The heart of our campus is our new gymnasium complex performing arts center, which houses a 350 seat theatre, black-box performance space, and a permanent art gallery showcasing student work and local Senegalese art.
