- Learning at ISD
Last November, the International School of Dakar (ISD)’s PreKindergarten 3 (PreK3) and 4 (PreK4) students joined these commuters, not only to travel, but to explore “where we are in place and time” and “how the world works” through an experiential learning visit to the train station, emphasizing the benefits of transdisciplinary learning.

ISD’s vision is a community that leads, inspires, and impacts global change with compassion and wisdom. We aim to nurture each learner’s growth through an IB education, and it's the what and why of education that matter most. The ISD community garden and garden project foster healthy lifestyle habits, understanding of sustainable food systems, systems thinking, food security, and resilience—helping make the vision of the next hundred years not just aspirational, but achievable.

The International School of Dakar (ISD) and the Institut Français de Dakar have partnered to offer a program geared toward ISD parents and staff, providing high-quality French language courses to help them confidently navigate everyday life and interactions in Dakar and Senegal.

ISD students in Grades 6 through 11 spent the day learning with partners across Dakar and beyond on the second day of ACE! Students returned to campus, buzzing with accomplishment!

On January 1st, 2026, ISD Grade 4 student, Yutaka, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania! Mt. Kilimanjaro is Africa's tallest mountain, rising to 5895m above sea level.

ISD student, Matïsse, recently organized a drive to collect bags and resources for École Élémentaire Publique Point E et Maternelle and for a school in the village of Djillas.
