Future Pathways: Celebrating the ISD Class of 2026

The International School of Dakar (ISD)’s Class of 2026 and the Secondary faculty and staff have a lot to celebrate. From acceptances to a range of colleges and universities globally to a consecutive increase in IB DP pass ratings, and scoring above the global average. Our Jaguars left ISD setting a high bar for the upcoming school year.

A Strong Finish: IB Diploma Results Above the Global Average

Within the Class of 2026, the majority of students took the full IB Diploma and there was a pass rate of 87%, more than five percent above the global average (82.16%). This reflects a 25% increase in ISD’s IB DP pass rate over the last two years.

And the highlights don’t stop there. Our students scored an average of 32 points on their exams, exceeding the Global Average of 30.88 points.

From Dakar to the World: Our Jaguars’ Next Chapter

The benefits of an IB Diploma and an ISD education are that they open opportunities around the world for students while preparing students for the rigor of university and college.

With such an outstanding performance, our now-alumni are more than prepared for the academic rigor they will face among their university acceptances across the world, whether they are studying at Brown University in the United States, King’s College London in the United Kingdom, The University of Sydney in Australia, Villioti Fashion Institute in Africa, Erasmus University College in Europe, or Dalhousie University in Canada. There were 61 graduates and over 90 acceptances, with the U.K. and the U.S.A. being the most represented but with many offers in Europe and Africa. Some of the universities and colleges include:

  • United States: Brown University, Johns Hopkins University, Tufts University, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Boston University, William & Mary, University of Michigan, University of Washington, Syracuse University, Lehigh University, and more.
  • United Kingdom: London School of Economics (LSE), UCL, King’s College London, The University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, University of Bristol, Durham University, and University of Bath, among others.
  • Canada: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, McGill University, University of Ottawa, Dalhousie University, and Concordia University.
  • Europe: EPFL (Switzerland), Copenhagen Business School, IE University (Spain), American University of Paris, Les Gobelins, Erasmus University College (Netherlands), and Czech Technical University.
  • Africa & Middle East: African Leadership University (Rwanda), Strathmore University (Kenya), Villioti Fashion Institute (South Africa), American University in Dubai, and Canadian University of Dubai.
  • Australia & Asia: The Australian National University, The University of Sydney, The University of Queensland, City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), and DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore, Yonsei University

These accolades mark ISD’s commitment to its Strategic Plan, ensuring academic success and personal growth across all graduation pathways.

We wish the Class of 2026 a big congratulations and wish them all the best as they start this next phase of life.
