Our Secondary School Heads of department (HODs) met last Thursday to discuss various assessment templates used in their subject area and during the professional development day held recently week, secondary School teachers were involved in the development of interdisciplinary units at each MYP grade level to enhance student synthesis and transfer of knowledge across disciplines. 

HODs presented each of their templates and highlighted elements and areas that were vital for their tasks. Exciting discussions then took place and HODs will look to streamlining certain elements of assessment template across all subjects. HODs will also look to collaborate with ISD’s communications team to help design a unique secondary school assessment template which highlights such key elements.

For professional development last week, secondary School teachers were involved in the development of interdisciplinary units at each MYP grade level to enhance student synthesis and transfer of knowledge across disciplines. Teachers across various grade levels collaborated extensively to develop units of learning grounded in the local context of Dakar, which is intentionally rooted in ISD’s mission.
