Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The ISD Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a voluntary organization open to all current parents of ISD students and current teachers. The mission of the PTO is to:

  • serve as a liaison between parents and the school community

  • support new and returning families

  • organize cultural and social events

  • raise funds to support the academic and social needs of the ISD community

The PTO is actively engaged in community-building and fundraising throughout the school year. The group has organized welcome back events for parents and staff, family fun days, movie nights, bingo nights, used book sales, holiday sales, yard sales, and more. The PTO also provides support in terms of volunteers and funds for concerts, graduation, and World Cultural Month. Each year 1 million CFA is set aside to provide grants to staff and students who want to pursue special projects that benefit both ISD and our host country.

Meetings are held every Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the conference room of  the Performance Arts Center. Parents can support activities without becoming officers or attending meetings on a regular basis. Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated.  If you would like to join the email distribution list to learn about upcoming events, activities, and volunteer opportunities, please fill out this form. The PTO is a great way to meet other parents and become involved in your child’s school!

The PTO can be reached at pto@parent.isd.sn.

All parents are invited to attend weekly PTO meetings!
