Counseling Closed Over Break
Updated: Dec 10, 2019
Q: How should I communicate with my counselor over the holiday vacation?
A: As ISD will be closed over the holiday break, from the end of day on Friday, December 13 until the start of the school day on Monday, January 6, the High School Counseling Office will also be closed, and, as such, counselors will not be available during this span.
To be clear, this message was communicated individually over the last few weeks of the semester in group sessions and in individual meetings with all seniors, so this should not come as a surprise.
As of Friday, December 13, all materials for any colleges with application deadlines of January 15, 2020 or earlier will have been sent.
Be sure to review this post on applying to college and this one about what to do if a college reports missing materials. Please be aware that we will be checking emails over break intermittently, scanning for urgent matters. As such, please email us with updates about college results, questions, and the like, but understand that we are not able to guarantee our normal quick response time. Most matters will wait until we return from the holidays, but we will do all we can to handle and assist with urgent situations. Additionally, we will not be providing feedback on essays or applications during this span. Keep in mind our recommended two-week rule for applications.
We wish you all a wonderful and relaxing vacation, and we will see you in the new year!
